Amberley have been through some hard times and taken some tough decisions, but they are now in good financial shape and very keen for our project to go ahead. Indeed The Firework Museum is the only project they are currently progressing. Their new watchword is quality. They will be going though all their existing displays & improving them. They expect our project to be to this same high standard from the very start and I think no one would disagree with that aim.
They have previously had projects that have stalled, or taken many years to finish and this always looks bad. They have therefore asked that we have funds in place to complete our project, including our museum building, before any work commences and that we can provide a realistic and comparatively short build schedule. Again, this seems entirely reasonable, but does present us with a considerable challenge.
Our previous target was for a phase one sum of £6000 to complete two huts. I feel that to complete the project, including ground works, electrical supply, fencing & the museum building we must consider a sum of £25,000 - £30,000. Now given sufficient volunteer labour, the final amount my well be quite a bit less, but I feel this is a realistic target.
I believe we can raise the money, do the work and create a unique exhibit for the firework world & the wider community. We have recently taken on James to assist with our fund raising (he raised £1,000,000 for his local community centre) and have had promises of help from professional builders. We have also invested in an excellent artists impression of the final exhibit - you can download a high quality copy of it here: Artists Impression
I would ask that you do all you can to promote the project and make something very special happen.
